Take everything that you’ll need to ensure that you’re comfortable.
Essentials might include comfortable clothes and shoes, business cards, notebooks and pens, laptops or tablets, chargers and power banks, water bottles and snacks, and any materials or samples that you want to share or sell. You may also want to bring some extra cash, a travel adapter, and a backup plan in case of emergencies or changes.

5. Be an Active Delegate
It can be tempting to stay in your zone or on your phone! Yes, it’s important to keep your purpose firmly in your sights and you may be someone who finds it difficult to begin conversations. There are things you can do to make the most of your conference experience
- Try not to sit in the same spot throughout the conference. Change your seat, change your perspective.
- Set yourself a goal of speaking to as many people as possible each day or perhaps make a friend for lunch or tea breaks.
- Plan questions that you might want to ask, either in the public forum or during a private chat.
Don’t forget it’s your conference experience and there is everything to gain!
